Dual channel is a property of the memory controller, not of the RAM itself. Dual channels kits are just 2 of the same stick packaged together. You can get 2 single sticks of the same ram and run in dual channel as well.

For the X2, dual channel is about 5% faster than single channel.

so what is the cheap brand name for dual channel? I am thinking about either 1GB or 2GB cuz I feel that my PQI memory is not fast enough.

The cheapest 1GB sticks of PC3200 RAM run @ 3-4-4-8-1T timings, at stock speeds. That's much slower than your 2-3-2-5, even though it's having to run @ 2T. They're still selling PQI Turbo in 2x1 GB sets: link. I have those same ones, except I bought my sticks separately, and like stevty said, they have no problems at all running in dual channel. The only time that's ever a problem is when trying to run two sticks that aren't identical, and even then sometimes it isn't, as long as both sticks have the same IC.
