kitchen sink- single
bathroom sink- double (mostly for aesthetic reasons)
tub/shower- single

single is much more convenient in most cases.

Single is my preference but I could see where Double would look better.

Double, single suks.

waste of energy, most of the time its in the middle and used for less than a minute. The hot water starts for the faucet but its turned off before it even lakes there. Then it cools down, again next time the same thing... so the water heater is unnecessarily keeps heating the water, never to be used.

Don't really care.

What sucks though is double faucets - separate faucets (not just handles) for hot and cold. In the house where I grew up, we had one of those in the jankier or our two bathrooms.

I like double. My single handle bathtub faucet only lets out hot water because the cold water pressure balancing catridge got clogged by my hard water. Now I need to install a new one.

I like the convenience of the single, but they always seem to leak or break in some way faster than doubles.

I like the single handle, always had those in my house. The other require too much handling.
It's true that they break sooner though.
