Single Channel, Single DIMM?

I am wondering if a single channel processor like the 64 3000+ performs better with say 1 gig in one dimm rather than 512 in 2 dimms (making 1 gig).

Performance would be exactly the same.A good reason to have one would mean you would have more space to upgrade later if you wanted to,the number of slots on your mobo permitting of course.
