Are we really accepting this as an insult now? Its one thing to call another person an a$$hole or calling another persons post BS but to allow outright gay slurs I find rather disturbing.

The former appears to be a joke, although I word itself is somewhat distasteful, I don't believe it was intended as a serious personal insult against loki8481. However, since it IS a pretty nasty slur against gay people, I'll take it up with my fellow mods and see what we think about that being within the rules here.

The second, however, is clearly a violation of the personal attack rules and has been dealt with appropriately...thanks for the heads up.

IMHO the word f*g should be treated just as the word n*gger is. Both are slurs and should not be tolerated in any fashion.

If it was being used as an actual word (like as a cigarette/drudge) I wouldn't take offense - however its clear its not being used in that way in the threads I posted. It is being thrown around in a way it can be just as derogatory a term as n* or any other nationality term. I know its also used in online games as a term of goofing off but we all know the roots of it.
It is being used as a slang term and you have to be kidding if you think otherwise.
