Since when has Chili's been this expensive?!

So I donated blood tonight with my sister and we went to Chilis afterwards to get our bearings back.

So I ordered without looking at prices.................bad idea.

1) Dr. Pepper $2.19
2) Chicken Fajita Nachos w/ Guac $8.79 + $1.29 (Guac)
3) Chocolate Paradise Pie $5.29

My total after tax was $18.51 and I was shocked. How could I spend almost $20 on food for just myself!?!? My sister had an $8 salad and a water so her bill was much more reasonable.

I paid the bill and left a 20% tip but I swear their prices keep creeping up every year. This place is becoming a tad unreasonable in my view.

Inflation FTL. 🙁

Prices haven't gone up too badly. My co-workers and I go to Chilis every week and have been for the past 5 years or so. I think ordering pop is a rip off there, though.

Everything I ordered tonight I have order for the past 3-4 years and the prices have definitely risen 30 cents or so every year for all items or more.

We never have good service when we go to Chilis so I think we've been there for the last time. ANd they are definitely at least $1-$2 more than TGIFRidays or Applebees for the same entrees.

So you are saying that nachos were under 46 in the recent past? The old timer has raised by 20 cents over 5 years, the chips went up about the same. Buffalo wings have gone up maybe 40 cents.

desset/drinks are the biggest ripoffs at restaurants

Fo shizzle.

The wife and I went to the Olive Garden last night, we each got a pizza ($9 each), we had a $3 bowl of marinara sauce for the breadsticks, two sodas and she got a desert. With tip it was over $40. :Q

Then it is decided. TGI Fridays and Applebee's from now on! I kinda group all three in the same category anyway.

Pretty much every national chain is going to rape you on drinks and desserts, unfortunately.

That's the answer. They keep the line-item prices reasonable so they can advertise them, then they'll murder you on the add-ons. If they're ever pushing some special drink on you DON'T ORDER IT. It might seem like a special, but guaranteed when you get the bill it'll be $8.

Dude, just go to Chili's and get yourself a bottomless chips and salsa. For $3 you have a meal for as many people as you can fit at the table. 😛

Seriously though, I can't go to Chili's without getting the bottomless chips and salsa. The chips are so good.

I used to order the chicken crispers dinner than was $7.79 for years and years. Went there the other day and it was $10.99!

😕
