Since when did everything close on Easter???

I think everything should close. People have the right to be with their families regardless of what their job is and do whatever it is they do on Easter (whether it's Christian traditions or not).

Of course you still need nurses, cops etc, but keep it skeleton crew with the rest on call, or something. To me every holiday should be like this.

Since when does shopping mall came into society?
Since when grocery stores open past 6 pm or weekend?

Where is the good old day when people have more free time to spend with their family?
What happens to no gangs, low crimes, and respectful children?

wut

he needs to study this

How old are you? Back in the day even in the early/mid 90's most stores were closed with the exception of gas stations and party stores. It has not been until the last 10 years or so that this has been happening. I rememebr not long ago that Kmart was open only 10-6 on Sundays. Closed for Thanksgiving, Easter, Christmas and New Years.

If your idea of "getting out of the house" involves going to a store to shop... You might be an American.

*comedic timing is so hard on the internet.

LOL still funny

I am old. Almost 40.

I just don't remember Target being closed on Easter when I worked there, but I may have forgotten in my old age.

You sound like a commie bastard. If you were truly a capitalist you'd see the truth in businesses remaining open for business as long as their is a viable and profitable market available to it.

Yes I'm attempting to illustrate the fallacy of the Christian fiscal conservative.

When I was growing up, all of the gangs, criminals and children closed on Sunday.

/shakes fist/

I discovered that in rural New Mexico most of the gas stations close on Sundays. I was sweating it for a while.

The town just to the north of mine pretty much closes down Saturday night, and doesn't reopen til Monday morning. Not the town, literally, but all the businesses. Get your gas on Saturday if you need it, cuz they don't even leave the pumps on for CC sales!

That's the problem, there actually are people out there who will go buy stuff on holidays. It's the greedy corporations that choose to remain open those days. For the sake of the employees there should be regulations in place so businesses are not allowed to operate on holidays, that way it's fair for everyone.

They used to have regulations like that before where I live but they removed them. If one store decides they want to be open, then everyone else is forced to follow suit or they lose business. If everybody is forced to close then people will just go buy their toilet paper or whatever, the day before, or the day after. Nobody loses anything, but at least employees get to celebrate the holiday (if they do that or not) like everybody else.

I'm not one stuck working those days as I have a normal 5*7.5 job and I'm fortunate about that, but just placing myself in someone's shoes who is stuck working in retail, fast food, etc.

That's why we have the Easter Bunny...he luls him back to sleep.
