Is my memory failing me or is the idea of stores closing on Easter a new thing??

Seems that everything is closed today... and I was going to go shopping to get out of the house, bummer.
 
Yea I did the same thing, pulled into the Target center and noticed absolutely no cars, and then did a slow pass by the doors and saw that it was closed. I guess that explains the extra light traffic today. Luckily I was still able to pick up the essentials at a 24/7 Shaws near by

What do you mean? CFA is closed today, and the owners aren't christians.

EDIT >> nevermind, I thought they were jewish (could have sworn I read that on a sign in CFA), but a google search turns up they are southern baptist.

CFA is closed EVERY Sunday. And I don't know if they are Christian, but they ARE closed for religious reasons.

Yep. Chick-fil-A is a business that was founded in the South, and is a definitely Southern Baptist approach. In the South, many businesses are closed every Sunday.
 
Blue_law tradition. When I was a kid up north all we had to do on sunday was listen to the radio and go to church. Some gas stations and drug stores were open. Most everything else was closed.

Since when grocery stores open past 6 pm or weekend?

Where is the good old day when people have more free time to spend with their family?
What happens to no gangs, low crimes, and respectful children?
