Since the SuperCommittee failed, does that mean Bush tax cuts expire?

The supercommitee is responsible for coming up with the cuts.

Congress could alter the law to modify the triggered cuts.

Apples and oranges.

I would think the Dems would happy about these triggered cuts. I mean, SS and Medicaid is untouched, and Medicare is barely touched. Its defense that sees the most cuts.

Are you advocating they alter the triggers?

I didnt say that. I would prefer the triggers stay in place.

Thats my point...

More people then not would just prefer to let the triggers happen. Even in congress you can't get them to decide on anything so I highly doubt they will unravel all of this stuff.

So where do 'conservatives' fall on this, with Obama saying he'll veto any attempt to reduce the spending cuts, or the right trying to protect corrupt military spending?

More center-right/libertarian here, but I'd go with Obama on this; no reason for defense to be a sacred cow. If anything, the automatic cuts should have been larger and encompassed more parts of the budget. I'm also fine with allowing all the Bush tax cuts to expire, including the ones at the low end as well as the wealthy.

See look at this. We all are agreeing the triggers should stay in place. When do we all ever agree on the color of shit let alone budget stuff. It ain't going nowhere.

SURPRISED OBAMA CAME OUT and said he'll veto any attempt to push back/kick the can down the road on the auto spending cuts past 2013!

it's like he knows he aint going to win re-election in 2012 and going to screw the new repub president?

Everyone's willing to get screwed as long as they get to see the other side get screwed too. 😀

Congress and the President should not get a free pass when they cannot compromise due to a deal they made only a few months ago. If they cannot come up with the cuts/revenues, then the trigger should absolutely kick in. Government and the people need to make sacrifices when they got us into 2 wars and the "war on terrorism" but decided no one needs to pay for them. There has to be real consequences for inaction otherwise everything will be kicked down the road as usual.

How many poor people create jobs?

Jussayin...

Ah, and there is your contempt for the "lower classes" - which explains why people like you get wet when jobs are shipped overseas and cost maybe one penny more than slave labor.

How many "job creators" are actually creating jobs in America? They've been gutting the middle class for the last 40 years and sending the actual work to other nations.

It was not a rhetorical question. It am trying to ascertain if you think poor people create jobs by asking a simple question.

I also noticed you still did not answer it.

Conservatives think the cuts to the excessive defense spending screw the President?

My wife started her own business last December and already has hired 8 employees. She had almost no money at the time so, to answer your question, "poor" people are job creaters as well.

She has money to start a business, and pay 8 people. Not very poor, since her earnings are more than the wages of 8 people.

Since her earnings are greater than the wages of 8 people, she is earning 8 times as much as each of those people. Last time I checked, earning 8 times as much as the employees does not make you poor.

EDIT: I do applaud what she is doing. Of course, this also implies you are poor as well, else yoru example does not really work.
