Do you think they'll end up releasing r700 and nv70 by this august?

According to the inquirer (don't bother) the geforce6800u will be clocked to 450 now.

Next ATI will reveal that the x800xt has 20 rendering pipelines

Then nvidia will counter by installing an electric can opener on the 6800

and ATI will respond by bundling entire computers with their cards, but the computers will be delayed 2 years so youll just have to play with your coupon for a while..

yais yais, this is very whorish.

I think all of the users with few posts and New Age man are Rogo/Cindy, and that he's been mixing some LSD into his coffee lately.

I find the whole "GPU war" in the >$500 price range completely ridiculous. I mean, what kind of market share do these cards have? One, two percent? And that's probably being generous. The real war, one without nearly so much publicity will be fought in the sub-$200 price range, and especially in the sub-$100 price range. I don't have any official numbers to back that up, but working for a "white box" shop, I see sub-$100 cards outselling everything else by a huge margin - something like 50 x200 cards to a single x600 card, and in last half year, we had *one* customer who came looking for a 9800pro, and he didn't buy it because it was too expensive.

What do you expect for a $600 price tag? Its been a Sub $250 card for the better part of the past half year most everywhere else.

Hey genius, ever think that the top-end tech trickles down to the midrange? I say bring on all the new technology possible and let it trickle down to the ~$250-200 range where I don't feel like a fool for buying it.

If a companys top card is the winner or is the fastest then it does help all of the other products. If it did not matter they would not try so hard. If the top pro uses wilson racquets it helps them sell ALL racquets not just the top one.
