Since NEC has poof'd need a good SATA DVD burner!!!!

I like my Lite-On SATA burner so far...it's my first SATA optical but I haven't noticed any quirks vs. my previous IDE burners.
 
Has anyone here successfully (with a SATA optical drive) upgraded your BIOS in DOS by booting up using a boot CD and a separate CD with the BIOS file and BIOS flashing app.?

I bought the Lite-On SH-16A7S, and it runs great!
