For mp3s, I'll use a gnutella client (either BearShare or Gnucleus), but for pr0n^H^H^H^Hlarger files I'll use eDonkey for reliability and multi-source downloading (haven't tested this in Gnucleus yet..)

I use Direct Connect primarily. The only problem with it is that to get into the good places, you need a lot on your computer to share with others. Fortunately, I have over 17GB worth of sharable data

Agreed... although I haven't gotten many good connections through DC, yet. The highest consistent rate I've gotten is about 25 KB/s. With the old Morpheus I used to get 60-70 KB/s. I end up with a lot of partial downloads because of it. Hopefully once I amass 20+ GB the other servers will be cool.

For .mp3's I use audiogalaxy.

eDonkey is the best for apps and such. Servers are easy to connect to, and it's pretty quick for common apps because you can download from more than one person at a time. Don't get anything illegal from there though because that would be a copywrite violation (maybe something else), but the stuff is there, almost anything you want. eDonkey

which one is best suited if you are looking for ebooks (not technical books but run-of-the-mill fiction)?

Filesharing in general, my favorite would be eDonkey2000. Using eDonkey, I've downloaded about 15Gigs so far this month, a total of 42Gigs this year, and about 75Gigs since I started using it last year.

For audio, I prefer WinMX and Audiogalaxy.
