I recently got hit by a car and she wrecked my front wheel and snapped my frame at the bottom bracket. I'm rebuilding it with a new frame here's what it'll be in it's new form. Plus what do you guys ride?

KHS Alite4000[Good Cheap Frame], Marzocchi MXC 100mm[Coil], 36 hole Sun mammoth/XTR wheelset, Race Face Real Seal Headset/XY Seatpost/Turbine LP Crankset and Rings, XT Drivetrain/V-brakes and Levers, Shimano UN72 BB, Bontrager Ti Rail Sparkle Seat, Bontrager 90mm stem 10 degree rise and an Azonic 2.5"rise riser bar

Fun to hit the trails with!

I have a '00 Norco Charger. 21-speed, aluminum frame, Shimano gears & brakes, Manitou Spyder shocks. Great bike a while back, now a medioker, but it refuses to die on me. I don't take it too easy on it and it simply refuses to brake :D. I guess it is a good thing. I am getting my money's worth.

Nice road bike. There is a guy at one of my local shops with a Seven road bike, his is all DuraAce though. If I had the cash I'd like to pick up a full 105 grouped road bike, alas being a student is a poor life.

Mongoose Alta, a few years old.

Best $400 I ever spent, wish I had more time to ride it.

I have a seven year old Trek 830 , and a brand new Trek 4300

My first "expensive" bike was a Nishiki which cost about $400.00 back in 1983, it was a road bike.

Got an older custom-built Schwinn Paramount. Took almost a year to make it, 25" frame, fully Compagnola (sp?) equipted, tandem spokes, etc. Cost an arm and a leg. I've changed it around a little over the years.....hardest thing to do was a customed designed (by me) lighting, battery, generator system. Love the thing...

I have a 2001 Specialized Sirrus Comp. I love it. All the characteristics of a road bike but a flat handlebar, which comes in handy at low speeds when I'm on campus.

Trek 7300 aluminum 24 speed hybrid:

Pro-Max "V" brakes and levers (stock, upgrade to Avid planned)
Trek solid Cro-Moly fork (stock, don't have plans for replacement yet)
Bontrager Fairlane rims, low-end Shimano hubs (stock, will upgrade eventually, nothing specific planned)
Ritchie SpeedMax Cross 700x35 tires (upgraded)
Specialized alloy straight handlebars (upgraded from spare parts)
Unknown brand alloy neck (upgraded, replacing heavy adjustable neck)
Shimano STX-RC (aka Deore this year) trigger shifters (upgraded)
Deore rear derailleur (stock)
SRAM 11-32 cassette (stock, Shimano XT 11-28 ordered and on the way)
Nexave front derailleur (stock, will upgrade if needed)
Nexave crank-set, not the nice hollow-tech ones, the cheap ones (stock, upgrade to triple-Ultegra planned)
Ritchie alloy seatpost (upgraded)
Terry Liberator-Y seat (upgraded)
Cheap pedals (stock, going clipless soon)
Bell Influx brain bucket
Cat Eye Enduro 2 bike computer

It's an awesome city-commuter bike, IMO, and my opinion is the one that matters when I'm the one riding.

Sounds impressive. How much did you pay? I saw $389 on the web.

I can't sue her. I was riding on the sidewalk to avoid the nails and other debris from the construction site near by. When I crossed the crosswalk it was my fault since bikes are considered vehicles. If I filed a damage esitmate to her insurance company they would have the police fine me $110 and 3 points off my licence. So I'm screwed.

When I'm actually riding, I ride a '00 Schwinn Moab 3. It's held up to its share of abuse, but in the past year I haven't riden nearly as much due to me now legally driving. :D It's blue, and I like it, one of the better $750 investments I've made. Too bad the company is gone now :(.

RossMAN, I stumbled upon this one, an almost new 2000 or 2001 model (nobody has told me for sure yet, but I suspect it's a 2001 because of the paint job) for $240 in one of the local chain's used section. That's $240 before my upgrades, of course. I've spent closer to $500 on it altogether at this point (not including computer, helmet, or lock).

My road bike is a 2001 model Trek 2300.

My mountain bike is a Yokota Yosemite frame, Columbus tubing, that I built up. It is just temporary until I can afford to go all out on a mountain bike but is rides nice.

Merckx MX Leader (Team Motorola paint), Campy Record 9spd grouppo, Chorus Pro-Fit pedals, Syncros stem, Amercian Classic Ti seatpost, Rolf Vector wheelset.

American Bicycle Mfg Comp-Lite (betcha never heard of these guys ;)) w/old 8-speed XT kit...currently serving commuter duty.

Bob Jackson (Reynolds 531 frameset) converted to single-speed leg-burner (39 x 16).

I've got a few other odds and ends that aren't really worth mentioning as the I'm on one of the three above about 99% of the time.
