Asians aren't known to be creative or innovative? Honestly, where does this blatant misconception come from?

What new technology came out of asia in recent history?[/quote]

So a race of people shall be defined only by modern inventions now? I guess the Greek haven't invented much recently so they must not be innovative as a race. Anyways, to address your topic:

Sim Wong Hoo - Chairman of Creative Technology, inventor of the Sound Blaster Cards you use today.

An Wang - One of the first developers of desktop computers.

Tuan Vo-Dinh - 23 patents for optical diagnostic equipment and plenty of other inventions.

Flossie Wong-Staal - Co-discoverer of HIV along with the devlopment of HIV treatments.

Wah Chang - Sculpture and props designer for the Star Trek series. Props include the tricorder and the communicator. The communicator has been cited as the inspiration for the flip style cell phone.

Steve Chen - Co-Founder of YouTube.

Jerry Yang - Co-Founder of Yahoo.

John Tu and David Sun - Co-Founders of Kingston Technologies. Innovators of SIMM tech.

Minoru Yamasaki - Architect of the World Trade Centers.

This is such a basic list it does zero justice to all the incredible Asian inventors out there. I won't even begin to touch upon the inventions in robotics that the Japanese and Koreans have made. But yea, I can totally see where you'd get the idea that Asians aren't innovative or creative.

Most of those are not "inventions" but improvements on existing technology. I was talking more about start from scratch innovation.

In either case take those and divide by number of asian population and do the same with caucasian inventors, difference is ridiculous.

No inventions start from scratch unless you want to go to prehistoric times. Do you think any invention out there was absolutely out of the blue? Also, if you're going to make that ridiculous assumption that the ratios are ridiculous, feel free to provide the numbers and then we'll talk. Until then, you're providing me with anecdotal evidence at best and more likely opinion. It's easy to tell when somebody doesn't have a real claim as they begin to backpedal and then narrow the criteria. I'm sure you'll come back with another field that needs to be narrowed until we finally get to an answer you like. Eventually we'll hit some point where I'll have to agree that in 1985 at 10:35 PM, upon the first drop of rain in Minnesota, yes, Asian people were not creative nor innovative at that moment.

Edit:
Fixed the quotes

We're looking to buy a house this year and are checking out elementary schools in the area for our 4 year old daughter (who happens to be Chinese -- see sig). Anyway, the amusing part is that while the percentage of Asians at the various schools (five we've looked at) is always very small, the test scores for the Asian students are literally pegged at the top.

White girls may not like Asian guys, but white guys certainly like Asian women. Asian hoarders. 😉

All because of full metal jacket..me love you long time. for five dollah

I got the term Asian hoarders from a book my wife read awhile back, not here or FMJ (don't remember it in the movie, maybe I misinterpreted your comment).

I was stationed in Japan, and I saw enough hoarders within the ranks of the military! Not that I can really blame the guys over there since there are very few non-Asian women available. Of course, the guys that would marry girls who couldn't speak English was a little weird (and they couldn't speak their wives' language, either Japanese or Filipino typically).
