For the various media players in the physical machine I manually assigned S/PDIF output, which bypasses the default device setting. Great, now if only there was a way to also do this for a browser...

Two or more soundcards, but applications play only on one.
For example, if you have built-in sound card and SoundBlaster as second sound card, or USB/Bluetooth headset, you can configure certain applications play on built-in sound card, and others play on SoundBlaster or USB headset, fully employing your audio hardware.

This will allow you to have multiple users on the same PC on different accounts at the same time for windows 7/vista/xp. It can be undone as well.

that would still require a 2nd client machine from which to log in. OP is trying to do 2 users from one machine.

This program does not deliver on its promises. That site's guest wall is full of negative user feedback regarding Win7 support. :thumbsdown:

Not that it would work since VMware uses a single virtual generic audio device to buffer sound from the physical machine's devices, but it wouldn't help anyways because I need to tweak the browser's audio output in the physical machine where my desktop resides.

One other thing I've tried was make a clone of the virtual machine which served only to run the browser in a separate VMware window, however having two VMs run at the same time started exhausting the i5's virtualization capabilities and video became jittery. Oh well, failing to come up with a better solution I guess I can use BS.player for some basic YouTube streaming functionality.
