Sims 4 thread

Is this game any good? Considering it as an interesting AI sandbox. I don't want to put up $60 though wayyy to expensive. But if it's fun I'll consider it.

It feels like a mobile game honestly. Maybe with mods it could become something I'd want to play. As it is, I got refunded after playing for about 6 hours. Just garbage compared to modded Sims 3, even regular sims 3 is better. The social interactions are better and relationship stuff is better. But customization has mostly gone away, the color wheel is completely gone. Sims 4 also removes the open world that was in my opinion the best feature of Sims 3. Now they might make it better with DLC down the road but the DLC is not cheap and so you're essentially paying again just for features that i feel should have been in the base game.

Maybe worth $20. Not even worth considering at $60

Ehh with how much dlc / crappy expansions they try to force you to pay for and how little some of it adds I no longer care about sims since sims 1.

PCGamer said the loading zones was a "feature", but it definitely read as a step backwards. You would think a large open world with persistent sims would be a more advanced concept then zoned areas.

Yeah especially since I have an SSD. Longer load times wouldn't have been an issue for me. The only thing that made Sims 3 so fun was the open world aspects. Now you just load wherever it is you're going without any open world traveling or things like that. And the town you're in is tiny. It feels like a mobile or Facebook game.

This really appears to be a Console game ported to PC....

Just it came on PC first....

Is it worth it? Hell no. Will it be? If they correct a lot of mistakes.

If they treat fans right and add things in a free patch and not in a Pool Party / Toddler expansion....

At this point you're better off waiting for the first expansion and a sale....

Or just play Sims 3 & 2 with all the fan created enhancements. One good thing is Sims 3 expansions should drop in price.

This is just not worth it. It's like one step forward in some areas but many steps back....

You could call this Sims 1 HD remake.... (Course this was done on PS2/Xbox/GC already which also had co-op.)

You could also make the argument that EA has killed ThemePark, SimCity & now The Sims....

It's a bit early to declare Sims 4 as the death of the series but they have a lot of work to do....

Until then enjoy Sims 3. Even Sims 2. They are still fun Sim games. Tons of user created content and enhancements.

The Sim 4 is a joke, lack of items, lack of features, loading screens for everything. Good job EA once again you fuck something up, money hungry bastards if you ask me.

Only good thing they did was offer Sims 2 complete for free but they only did it for a limited time.

Plus you need a custom program to fix visual settings & screen resolution. Also mods that fix bugs EA never did.

Hey at least they offered a more complete game than Sims 4 for free & no micro transactions.

Maybe just to cover the bad PR they knew they would get from releasing The Sims 4.

As others have noted, no, sims 4 probably isn't worth it right now.

Alot of people have complained about them removing pools and toddlers. I don't miss todlers. I do miss the pools though.

They've also stipped out alot of small things from the game, that really add up, and make the game feel like there isn't much to it.

The character creator is the most in depth one they've done, and I really spent awhile playing around with it. But, once you've done with that, there is really not much to do with vanilla sims 4.

Now, they'll start release add on pacs, and stuff pacs, for 40 dollars and 20 dollars each, respectively, to actually give you something to do, so, to have a complete game, you'll end up forking over 400 dollars total....

No, I can't really recommend it.

Well they did add demon babies 🙂
and you sorta kinda in a way make a pool out of a bathtub or toilet

Now I have not played it personally, just stuff I read about over the weekend
