We all know that won't be the case with EA games. Just look at Simcity 4000 and The Sims 2.

They can't make the requirements too high if the majority of the sims buyers are soccer moms with Dell computers.

insane, I can't wait to play it...I used to love the original sims, but sims2 went overkill with expansions and I stopped, haha.

new sim city would be cool.

Remember how long Sims 2 takes to load with all the expansions? At least that is what I hear on the pc gaming board. Not really sure if it is true or not though sense I haven't played most of the expansions.

Add several GB of custom content and prepare to sit for a while LOL

Although I've got about 1.3gb (compressed) and it's not too horrible.

Didn't Sims 1 have over a dozen expansions?

Yeah, I almost lost count of the number of expansions to Sims 2! How many were they in total?

Going by Wikipedia, The Sims had 7 expansion packs. While The Sims 2 had 8 expansion packs plus 10 stuff packs.

I played both Sims games for awhile when they first came out, but never got any of the expansions or anything. I'll probably get Sims 3 unless there's a shit-ton of DRM on it.

Okay, Sims 2 was flowing with expansions! 🙂

Holycrap! Did it surpass the number of Deerhunter iterations? 🙂

My guess is the system requirements will be a high-end single core (3.0Ghz P4/3200+ AMD) or a dual-core CPU with 1GB RAM (XP) and 2GB RAM (Vista), and the generic 9.0c GPU.

The requirements should be much less than GTAIV as this game should be fully coded and optimized for the computer, and not a port of any kind.

I couldn't believe it when I installed The Sims 2 on my GF's laptop, and it seemed like it took just as long to load on a 2GHz Centrino P4 with 2GB of RAM as it did on my old desktop back when it first came out (something like a 1.4GHz with 768MB)

My wife loves the Sims2, she has almost every expansion and "stuff" pack.

I asked her if she wanted Sims3 when it comes out, she said "looks about the same. The jump from 1 to 2 was huge, but I'll play Sims2 until I feel I've gotten $600 out of it."

"$600?"

"Yeah, that's about what all the expansions plus the game cost, right?"

Smart lady.
