OK...before the bashing starts...I know its hit or miss with this place...but I got my working copy of HL2 for a total of $8.50. Do I press my luck and go for 2 in a row? For $8.50 total to get The SIMS 2 I think it is.... Anyway, here is the LINK:

I'm still trying to get my HL2 copy from them, they charged me for Fedex 3-day and they said they sent it USPS.........
 
Picked up the HL2 and was lucky enough to get a valid key...wouldn't worry about invalid keys with this one tho, just a messed up box and/or missing manuals

you don't really need the key to play online or anything do you? sorry i'm a sims noob but would buy this for the gf to tinker with hehe
 
They have a high resellerrating... 8.93/10.

As far as I know, you only need the key to install right now, I don't think there is online play. But if they add anything in the future, you might miss it. For HL2, the key is necessary and many people were getting keys already used (search "half life 2" and see the .99 thread).

Consumer depot seems like a pretty shady company...people in the other threads were suggesting that their high resellerratings is due to cheating with tons of fake ratings...when they shipped hl2, I paid for "fed ex 3 day" and it was shipped usps first class
 
Yesterday people said the reseller ratings were fake. They are bumping their own ratings up. Also there was a thing on a virignia news channel website that said they were under investigation for fraud. I wish I could find the link, but it's on the .99 hl2 thread.
 
I ordered hl2 99 cent deal, I got a good key luckily, however if I were to do it all over again, I would choose not to. They are a shady arse company, shipped via usps when charging and stating they were gonna ship fed ex 3 day. And yes the statements about false ratings are true.
Yes it is only 10 dollars, but its 10 dollars to a shady dealer that likes to scam.
 
I ordered WoW a few weeks ago since it was 19.99 , 27.50 after shipping. It came fedex. But It came with no key. It had been torn off.
They wanted me to send it back. But I just sent the case to blizzard since its here in socal and got a new key in a couple of days.
 
You definitely want a valid key for HL2. It might accept it, but if they determine it is not legit (not matching their legit list), then they can and will ban you. Didn't like 20,000 illegal cdkeys get banned when it first came out?

I've been getting their email ads for about 2 years now...so I doubt they will be shutting down any time soon.

yeah, i doubt it will close. even after the news story ran they still are open, but they do have a lot less people going in there. they also have competition down the road in nashville with buyessex, which had 180000 94% feedback on ebay. Although Buyessex recently had their ebay account closed for shill bidding, they seem to still have a large crowd still going into their retail store, while I have never seen but 1 or 2 people in Consumer depot at a time.
 
I received HL2 and Sims 2 today via UPS 3-day, $18.49 total. Everything looks really good except I want to sell HL2 and I can't test the CD-Key. :frown:
