Ok, I know it's old news, but I just got my Simpsons Series 1 DVD boxset in the post, and may I officially say: Christmas has come early If you own a DVD player, and don't have this boxset, you ourght to be ashamed of yourself

Apparently, it's been so successful, that the second series will be with us very soon. Not soon enough, I say. Just imagine....every Simpsons episode on DVD...Mmmmm.

The opening liner notes by groening (sp?) are an absolute hoot.

I hadn't seen the first series episodes for ages, so it took a while to get used to the 'cruder' animation and voices. Anyone know whether it's back to 'normal' for the second series onwards?

I got it too, and they are great. I like the foriegn language part on dvd 3.

I heard it on some DVD forums I think, which are usually quite reliable.

It's truly a great set...although watch out for the next season (price wise). This set has 13 episodes, all the next seasons have between 21 and 25...which will make the set twice as large, and hence, twice as expensive (I guess $54.99 or around there)

Plus the seasons wont come out all too fast due to syndication rights, but that's okay I spose, we can wait for a long long time (10 years?...)

But the set is very good. I've written a review of it at a DVD site I write for (in my sig.....)

The DVD boxoffice price ($42.95) I quoted was in Canadian dollars which is about 28 USD.

BTW, that's about US$20.80...I wonder if Future Shop ships to the U.S.?

I remember reading a few months ago that Simpson's season 2 was going to be out for Christmas. Hopefully this is correct. I love this set! Many great forgotten episodes. "Homer do you know why you are apologizing?" "Yes, cause I am tired and I am hungry, and my clothes stink."

I dunno guys...with syndication rights here in the U.S. that would put 12 seasons out in...3 years....which I don't think will happen. Fox can make a lot more money if they release the really old ones, then slowly (6 months probably or perhaps longer) release the rest after they run in syndication for a few years.
