Amazon.com has this sweet deal. $40 after $15 mail in rebate. Also, free shipping.
I ordered mine on the 8th and it shipped on the 10th. Also, when I ordered it they had it for $39.99, now I get $15 back from that! Maybe others got lucky as well.
However, now it is $55-15 = $40.
These are fast compact flash cards. I bought it to replace the Sandisk I have been using in my canon d30 dslr camera (SLOW CF!).

Good luck!

How did you know this is 10X I've been trying to find a speed on these for a while? I just kind of assumed that they don't put speeds on them anymore because some reports indicate that pretty much all CF cards these days are roughly the same (or adequate) in speed performance and that quality of reader makes the most difference.

I have a butt-slow SimpleTech, but I don't think it's speed is labeled, either. My Kingston 256MB card kills is when storing images on my Nikon 885.

Are they both newer cards? I have both a kingston and a simpletech both bought about 3 months ago and both seem to operate at the same speed to me. Maybe I just haven't noticed though. I heard that recently pretty much all the CF memory is based on a particular Samsung or a particular Hitachi design with Samsung slightly outperforming the Hitachi. I understand that there are still "pro" versions that offer faster speeds but that the gap isn't that much anymore and that only the most advanced users find the price difference to be worth it.

I may be wrong on all this though.

They're both a year or two old - it very well could be that the Kingston is a next-gen card. I'd be more likely to get anothe SimpleTech card if others are having good results with them.

I believe this card was $35 for a short time yesterday. Amazon seems to play with the prices, so keep your eyes open and check back for a possible price adjustment. ;)
