Simple upgrade for a 754 board

Pretty sure I saw Turion in the 754 socket. Is this an energy saving CPU? Wonder how it compares to my Sempron 2800+ (running at 2.25 Ghz).

I figured if I am going to upgrade - might as well save some energy while at it.

No, Socket 754 doesn't support dual-core. It doesn't even support dual-channel.

hrmm, ive been wondering the same. i have a sempron 2800+ (1.6ghz) @ 2.4ghz, 1gb ram. i wanted to keep this sytem, get a better video card, a raptor and a 250gb drive and use it until it is 100% obsolete. :)

i planned on getting a new video card just so i could play hl2/css, quake 4, and fear. i dont want to or plan to build a new rig for new games, thats what my xbox360 is for.

are there anymore 4000+'s around?
