hello,

a simple question requiring a yes/no answer:

can you use an udma-66 dvd-rom drive on an ata-100 cable, despite the fact that udma-66 runs on an ata66 cable?

yep, ata100 cables are backwards compatible. the only read difference between them and ata33, etc, is that they add 40 extra grounds.

ATA-66 cable IS the ATA-100 cable.

And yes, you can. And it's probably an ATA-33 drive anyway.
