Ok this may sound dumb but I am ignorant on the subject. I just got a brand new stick of Mushkin RAM and I was wondering if you're supposed to take that sticker off or if leaving it on really matters, like for heat dissipation??? I've never used any RAM that came with a sticker across half the stick.

I have had quite a few sticks of RAM that came with stickers- some I left on and some I took off. If the sticker says 'Void If Removed' of course don't remove it. My most recent memory purchase was from Crucial. Their stickers have details about the memory- I kept it on and have had no problems- I am constantly running very memory intensive programs. Hope this helps.

Cool, thanks. It dosen't really have any important information on it but I guess I'll just leave it on unless I start experiencing problems.

<< it's probably been put on there by your retailer for warranty reasons! >>

that's a good point. Even though it might not say so, the vendor might use it for warranty purposes.

I've never removed any stickers on ram and it hasn't caused me any problems. And I've seen some they say Void If Removed.

Never have any program with the stickers on my RAM. So just leave it alone.
