 @ last poll option.

I think this pro-life and pro-choice nonsense is silly. You're either pro-abortion or anti-abortion. Or I suppose that should be pro-right-to-abortion or anti-right-to-abortion (or perhaps anti-abortion is still sufficient).

What about someone who is anti-abortion in their own life but doesn't feel like they have the right to tell other people what to do? That's poll #3.

Has anyone here actually seen video of an abortion? Or seen a series of preserved fetuses, each from the different stages of different types of abortion?

It's absolutely horrific.

Which just re-affirms my point that the pro-choice/pro-life terminology is silly, because the names have implications beyond what they are intended to mean. Consider the supposed logical inconsistency of being "pro-life" but supporting the death penalty - that is only seemingly logically inconsistent because pro-life doesn't really mean pro-life, it means anti-abortion.

I believe that women have (and should retain) the right to terminate their pregnancies if they so choose.

I would rather someone abort their baby than be unable to properly take care of it.

I don't think that abortion should be completely eliminated (there are some cases where it is needed) but if it was a simple opps sort of situation then I don't think an abortion should be available.

What situation requires the abortion of a baby?

If the baby is too large for the mother, or other birthing problems that could result in the mothers death. That, or a rape baby/baby from child molestation would be ones I would think the parents should have the options to abort.

If the baby is too large for the vaginal opening, there's this crazy, secret procedure that doctors on the black market can perform. It's called a c-section. Gasp! Don't tell anyone I told you.

Also, even if she's pregnant because of rape, I don't see why the baby must be aborted. Give birth and give it up for adoption. I value human life more than I do the woman not wanting to have stretch marks or scars from a c-section.

How about a constant reminder for 9 months of what a particular asshole did to her?

How about nurturing a new life and giving that person a chance at a lifetime of experiences? How about not being so damn selfish and self-centered that you can't think about anyone other than yourself, even if it's dealing with something you don't like for 9 months? Deal with it. Don't let it get the better of you, become a stronger person. Hardly a difficult sacrifice in exchange for the gift of life.

I'm not a woman and (I assume) neither are you, so really ,we should both shut the fuck up about it because we will enver understand what it is like to go through something like that.

Edit: what about incest rape? I think even you could understand not being able to have that child.

I will never accept or support the destruction of human fetus/baby. Prevention, sure, but destruction hell no. Never. In any way.

How about spending all this time and energy promoting condom use and adoption? Otherwise this 'lifetime of experiences' to which you refer typically involves poverty, abuse, petty crime, felonies, and then more procreation to ensure that the cycle continues.

Oh wait, I forgot that promising abstinence to your mustached youth group leader is the only way to prevent pregnancy.
