which way do they blow?

my guess is they blow out, pushing air towards the side of the case

not in, pushing air towards the heatsink

am i right or wrong?

There are some that blow away from the heatsink towards the side of the case, but most of them blow cooler air down through the heatsink the help disipate the heat.

most blow into the heatsink. its incredibly rare for them to blow out.

yup people mount it both ways ... there is minimal performance lost although i think batter peformance is acheived when blowing down on the heatsink
