Simple question on installing SK-7

Hi all again, I have another question the SK-7, this time about installing it.

I did a search and looked on the Thermalright's webpage and could not find an answer to this problem, so I hope I'm not wasting anyone's time. Anway, the question I have is that it came with this white pad with four little circles. What are these for? There are for dots on the bottom of the heatsink, is that where they are suppose to be put? I saw in another post that there are suppose to "go on the corners of the cpu" or something. How do you know if they get in the right place? Are they required? Sorry, I'm not new to anything that's not retail as I've always dealt with Intel and their retail heatsink fans.

As usual, thanks in advance for any help.

nah you dont need the white things, they are just like the pads included on the amd cpu's (in the corners)

jst put it on like you owuld on an intel (not p4...like a p3) and thats it
make sure to use thermal grease (arctic silver being th big one) and you should be good to go

What are you talking about you don't need the pads. The pads have to go on the corners on the cpu don't they? Also, the sk-7 came with a long pad about 5cm long, where does that pad go?

Yeah, definately thermal grease. But as far as the little pads I don't need them as the AMD processor has those black ones on it already?

ChampionAtTufshop, you are right, I misunderstood you. I thought you meant you don't need the little pads at all. Does anyone know what the thin 5cm pad is for that comes with the SK-7?

I never used those silly pads, XP processor already has some. I guess its there just in case you scrapped off the original pads on the CPU.

is it stickY?

is it one big continuous pad, or can you split it?
maybe to stick in between the heatsin/fan to reduce vibration?
i have no idea, i dont actually have an sk7 lol
