simple question... how to graph a line?

gopunk

Lifer
using my computer that is.... is there some sort of tool within office, that i can just give the equation of a line to, and it'll graph it for me?

<< i only know how to graph given data points, in excel... how do you do it with an equation? >>

Not sure...I just use data tables

<< Excel's graphing capabilities are pretty limited...but if you just need a straight line it will work. >>

yes i just need to draw a supply and demand graph, so it's just two straight lines. can you point me in the direction? i haven't been able to find the place to do this...

go through the help files in excel. They are typical MS bull help, but they do show you how to graph a line

You don't need to do with it a function.

Since they lines are straight, you need 2 points on it to draw the line. Just pick two x values and calculate the y value. Put the two pairs in a table, and that will make your line.

It's not the best way to do it, but it wll work.

Try searching google for an equation grapher if you want ot do it seriously. There must be a free one out there.

thanks guys, i ended up going with the equation grapher 🙂

maple and matlab are overkill... and the excel method... too in-elegant for me 😉
