I've got a 700E that I've had on a P3V4X at 140-144MHz fsb. I'm looking to improve my situation in my own system, since I am building a system for a friend and am going to be giving him the P3V4X. I know the BX and i815e have noticeably better memory bandwidth, so I am leaning that way, but I need the stability and the FSB options that the P3V4X offered. CUSL2 is at the top of the list, but I've read that there are people who can't get cpu's to dance on this board that would dance on another. Is that a socket370 issue? Should I stick with my Slot1/FCPGA/slocket combo? Help!!:)

hey Erik, I guess you've found your 700 that'll do the dance at 1g, huh? :D Personally, I would recommend 815e chipset since it'll allow you to go higher with screwing agp bus too much. If that Radeon of yours could do the dance at 90 or higher, BX would be better. Actually I rambling on stuff you already know... ahem... so here're my recommendations.

BX: AOpen AX6BC Pro II Millennium (IF you can find one... By far the best..) or Abit BE6-II (the later rev. with HP 370).
815E: MSI 815E Pro (currently running it... just stick a intel stock hsf on the northbridge chipset... it doesn't come w/ one)

Hope this helps a bit...

My current setup:
MSI 815E Pro
PIII700@933
Mushkin Hi Perf. Rev 1.5
V5 5500 (<--- sound familiar? hehe)

MaxSe: so how IS that V5 treating you?:) do you know that I got that V3 you gave me at 200MHz, totally stable??

I might just get another CUSL2, but I'll miss the voltage control on the slocket.

Heh.. she's treating me very well. :) Although I missed the speed of my GeForce, 2D looks much better, imo. just gotta get some more sim games... So, you got that 2000 to run at 200, huh? I KNEW I let that go too cheaply. :) Btw, have you oc'd the V5 when you had it? Going to try it, but still putting this rig together...

Good luck w/ CUSL2. I wanted to get that initially as well (as I tend to favor Asus alot), but I just heard too many problems w/ their bios... & I needed something that will run solid for me NOW. When I see some of the issues they have solved, I'll prolly get that. Keep me posted.

Btw, I wanna ask you about that SX1030 you got. I'll drop you a mail. Thanks.
