Simple question about LCD monitors with built-in speakers.

I was taking a look at a few LCD monitors on NewEgg. There were a few monitors with great reviews, but they had built-in speakers. I don't mind the look of the built-in speakers, but I would mind it if you had to use them. So, that is my question. Is it possible not to use the speakers that come in some LCD monitors, and, if so, how? A simple setting change?

Thanks.

You don't have to use them. Its simple...just don't plug them in 🙂

To get a signal they need to be connected to the line out from your sound card. If you don't connect it (just connect it to whatever speakes you want to use) then the built in speakers won't have any source to play from.
