Simple motherboard question

This is my first time installing from the ground up. Where do I place the washers? Do i screw in the spacers to the case first, then washers, then board?

Don't use the washers at all. You want the metal of the posts and screws to touch the metal on the motherboard that surrounds each of the screwholes (but no other metal parts). This grounds the motherboard to the case and prevents a short.

put in the standoffs, mount the board, place the washers between the screws and the board on the topside.

Nih and the rest. Thanks!

I'm sorry for snapping back. I just feel like I'm getting 2 different answers to my question. And I thought someone was joking about the newbie (me) but thats just a signature. Sorry.

I've done hardware upgrades..HD, PCI, AGP, ISA...but this is the first time building my own computer. Eventually I hope to overclock the duron600/asus A7V.

Aybara L.E. Didn't give you bad advice.. Unless your using a rather old motherboard, you don't need the washers. You may want to edit your post, or apologize.
