Do have to have the system restore disk to reinstall all the drivers for a laptop? My friend wants to me to fix a laptop for her but, I know all the stuff on them is "special". does the cd have all the stuff on it? All the win98 and 2k device drivers? Or do u plan and simply have to install the OS it came with? Thanks

what's a laptob?

Seriously though, no you don't need those discs as long as they manufacturer has the drivers online. If it is one of the larger OEMs (compaq, toshiba, sony, ibm) they should have them listed. It depends though.

well, basically the restore disk will restore it to the factory setup. whether or not it contains drivers will depend on manufacturer.

basically, most laptobs will be mostly operational with the OS included drivers.

manufacturers sometimes have drivers online. you'll have to consult your manual, or call the company, or ask someone here if they have a similar laptob. =P

i want a laptob =(
