Simple ipod help wanted

hi, just got an ipod photo for use in my car. I want to copy my existing mp3 collection over, which is all sorted into seperate folders on an external drive. How can I do this without having to load it into Itunes - I just cant get along with it.
 
Thanks, not 100% sure they will do what I want, let me expand. My Mp3 collection is in seperate folders, I dont use playlists I just like to drag a folder into my normal MP3 player. I would like to do that to my Ipod as it will save time creating playlists ( i have 80gb of mp3's and thats alot of hassle)
