Sorry about the blank page...pushed enter by accident.

Anyway...

Anyone ever play this game. After playing the game Physconaughts have the current feeling that i need to play more funny adventure games. The only three that come to mind are, Monkey Island, Space Quest, and Simon the Sorcerer. Does anyone know if Simon the Sorcerer is avaible for download yet?

Also if u know of any good funny games..new or old..just list them here and i will play them or atelst give them a shot

I played Simon the Sorcerer 1 on the Amiga and completed it through. AWESOME Game.

For adventure games with the retro feel...

Flight of the Amazon Queen

Beneath A Steel Sky - Personally, I preferred this over Monkey Island 1, absolutely unbeatable.

EDIT: The Home of The Underdogs - bookmark it and learn to love it.

How is Psychonauts? I was going to get it but it sounded like it was more of a platformer than an adventure game.

I havent beat it yet but so far its pretty cool. Some very original ideas here and there and its pretty funny becuase its the same guy that helped make Monkey Island and such. By far I think the best part of the game is the art and level design. It truely has some AWESOME lvls that make you think or just laught at how cool they are.

The actualy game play is pretty fun too. It makes you think on how to get by certain things by using the skills you have. It can get pretty tricky too. Controls and camera are great...since its a mixture of adventure and platformer you might think it would have the same frustration of falling off cliffs and jumping. But this game does a great job with controls and jumpiing..i havnet missed a jump yet.

Its also pretty good on size. At the beginning of the game you seem to feel a bit overwhelmed since its a pretty big world and there is a lot of stuff to do but then as you keep going it evens out pretty well. They realized no one wanted to run across the entire lvls all the time so they have a quick transit sytem.

Anyone know if you can still get Simon tho? I dont think its freeware yet.

Anymore suggestions are welcome.

I don't think it is freeware - most companies won't release their works like that. There's another category called 'abandonware', which was originally intended to cover software whose company no longer supported the game / went out of business. Although this label isn't legally recongized, you can probably find this game available for download.

(Actually, upon closer inspection it looks as if someone is still selling the game)

As for more recent adventure games, I'd suggest looking into The Longest Journey, Grim Fandango, and Syberia. And if you want a little bit of action thrown in (like a platformer) give Beyond Good and Evil a shot.

I don't know how you'd get Simon the Sorceror. But since Psychonauts was brought up, boy did I love the chess board map, the cube and the milkman map. Cool game :)
