SimCity 4 - anyone else really hyped for this?

I've played all the sim cities, but this really looks like it could be a huge step up. I know it's still not true 3d but it just looks really amazing.

I remember a couple of years ago playing SC3k for hours on end...polishing off a bottle of wine whilst carfully crafting my town. Ah..fond memories. I can't wait for the next one :)

I'll almost assuredly check it out when it's released.
Hopefully it'll be quite a bit more advanced then SC 2000/3000, I just pray it's more then merely a graphics over-haul.

Not something that I'll be eagerly awaiting, but it'll certainly be worth checking out.

Got any links with some decent info on the game?

ooh, im interested now. any game with the word sim in it is something i take some interest in, especially when its simulated life of some sort, like a city or the sims. im really looking forward to the sims online. that should be good.

SimCity 3000 blew ass. It was just like SimCity 2000 except with better graphics and a lot fewer features.

Same opinion here.

I am definitely up for some simcity4000 action. I agree, 3000 was too similiar to 2000 but it didnt keep me from playing it 2 weeks straight.

I agree... in fact for me, the graphics overhaul didn't help the game any... I found the new graphical format sort of made the screens harder to understand and see what was going on. SS2000 was the first version I ever played and I thought it had a more user friendly and intuitive interface. I tried out SS3000 and returned it right away. I'll give a look to SS4 when it comes out, but I'm busy with NWN so I'll wait for a good price on it. NWN was too much money as it was.

Apparently, you will be able to drop sims created in The Sims into SC4000. I can't remember where I got this from though. I think the idea is that you can zoom in on them and get more information.

I third the motion that SC3000 was a dissapointment. I'm looking for more interaction with neighboring cities. Online play with neighbors would be right cool.

EA/Maxis should team up with EA-Pacific. Then in SC4, you can mobilize an army against your neighbor and the game would suddenly turn into Command and Conquer Generals. :D. That would be awesome. ADMIT IT!

I'll pass.

Sounds like your looking for something more akin to Civilization 3, rather then Sim City.
Civ3 is an excellent game FWIW.
