first and foremost, a big welcome and :p:beer: for our newest member (and fellow TAS'er ;) ) BlackMountainCow. when you see some member from germany rocketing up the standings under the name of Christian Diepold, thats our BMC :p

the TeAm is now 12 members strong

so with SIMAP up and running again after a two week "layoff", we start back into it precariously holding onto 5th place, just 46 points ahead of boinc.be.

we'll have to see how the layoff effected the other teams and their member ranks to guage our next overtake victim :)

lets get at it !!
----------------------------------------------------
1/18/16

new wu's again after the first batch was cleaned out rather quickly.

we have slipped a spot to 6th place where we need our nearest threat by 10k + points, so hopefully we have nowhere to go but up :)

speaking of up, boinc.be, who unseated us from 5th place, is well within striking distance. hopefully as the week plays out we can get a better feel for what to espect going forward

not a bad day for the TeAm although the gap between us and boinc.be has widened so we remain in 6th place. again, too early to tell where the ppd will level off so i'll wait until the weekend :)

we have 6 members returning results with some rookie named BMC leading the way :Q the hordes may be resting after pillaging the ranks early :p of course mondo still leads the weekly production.

good days by borgie and Peter are also in the making :beer:

maybe i'll do a top 3 daily or something going forward. i'm kinda just trying to keep this project on the front page so that we can gain a few new members :)

Thx for the warm welcome Paul!

I basically put all my other DC efforts on hold to get the most out of the current batch of just 20,000 SIMAP WUs. So, expect some points coming in from my direction!

wow, what a tease :( i'll be out of wu's by lunch. one machine is already dry. ahh well, life goes on

btw- they weren't kidding about making the wu's smaller. these things are like eating peanuts compared to the other wu's. just grab a handful and crunch em down. :)

If you know how to run the by hand, I can send you a couple of WUs or upload them to a place of your choice. ;)

That could also be interpreted differently, take care with your answer :p

They are producing a lot of WUs ... more than 120 on 4 computers ... that is not the problem! :D The problem is deciding how much resource share to give to which project ;)

lol, i only have 2 comps so its a bit easier. :)

just checked the server and they have 28,000 + wu's ready to go so i don't think we'll be seeing much more down time ;)

Parhaps I was a bit too hasty in stating that there are "a lot" of WUs - because... :

There are 1 163 crunchers, 848 are active with a total of 2 407 computers.
There are 62 166 WUs not yet crunched; out of these 38 178 are being crunched on those 2407 computers and 23 988 are waiting for crunching.
That means that each computer has an average of 15 WUs crunching. That means also that each computer can get approximately 10 more WUs ... and that is not so much.
My comps will all meet their deadlines and I guestimate that all the WUs will be crunched before February 7 ... or even before January 31. I hope that I am wrong and that they will generate more WUs...

well, they relesaed 20,000 on sunday/monday which were gone within 24 hours. wu's were still out being crunched (see BMC :p ) when they released another, what 30,000 this morning?

i think (hope) they are releasing them in batches when they are ready. the first 20,000 they wanted to validate before releasing these new, improved wu's.

Well, I was going to shut off WU flow from all projects other than LHC and R@H, but since there's been a setback I'll turn SIMAP back on :) Keep in mind though, right now I've only got an old P3 1GHz up and running. I was going to bring up about 3 GHz worth of old comps but turns out that my dad scavanged some of them for RAM, and the HD (original) in the old P2 I brought up failed :(. I'll get'em back up as soon as the parts arrive from newegg (ordered today).

bah, they shut me off on one of my rigs :p no more wu's for you.

thankfully i have a full Q on my main rig.

hmm, actually, maybe boinc made the call based on my rosetta Q. i'll check later.

You can definitelyl tell that SIMAP is still a very small project. Yesterday, I had top producer rank #5 in the world. And that's with just 5 PCs 24/7.

i got throttled by boinc yesterday. no wu's dl'd for me until this morning. with these new wu's, i've been unable to get back to my previous ppd even though my resource share is the same.

maybe i was benefitting from the "really large wu's" they spoke of :p

but we moved closer to boinc.be so perhaps the stats are starting to level off.
