Back on topic about the APs, I know the rep from Silverstone said that the AP181s in the Fortress 2 cool as well on low as the Regular FP181 fans do on high, no mentions on noise difference though.

HMMMM. Now I think I have to get two for myFT01

PPCS is now carrying the Penetrator. In the closeups you can see that the blades indeed overlap, and they indeed pay an output penalty: 35 cfm from a 1500 rpm fan, with a static pressure of 1.7mm H2O. So it appears that the vanes do impede the flow and require a greater static pressure.

Hey guys,

I just installed 3 AP181s in my FT02 today and ran a bunch of tests between the old FN-181s (high and low) and the new AP181s (high and low). I'll post my full writeup tomorrow.

The short message is: If you have a GTX480 or multi-GPU setup, you're going to want these.

Excellent review. Thank you.

Now, when are you doing a review on the 120mm Penetrator? No resting on your laurels for you . . .

TY haha. I'll review the 120mm when I buy them like I did these. Unfortunately, since the computer hardware section of the review site I used to write for got closed down (due to the target demographics), I can't get free stuff from Silverstone anymore for review 🙁.

I'm too content with my Gentle Typhoons and San Ace H1011s right now to buy a bunch of AP121 for $17 a piece. If you send some to me however, I'll be glad to toss them on a heatsink to see how well they do 😉

With GT's and SA's you're all set, I think.
