So if I'm correct in interpreting the images, the PCI slots are perpendicular to the surface the case sits on? (cables come out the top)? How is that for cable management versus a traditional case?

Cable management is good. Lots of room behind the motherboard. Modular PSU is recommended.
Yes all the I/O ports are on top and they connect were pretty well. Theres a cover that sits on top and its deep enough for all the connections. In my case you can see the wifi antennas stick out though.

That seems kind of nice. I'm going to have to try my hand at some internal cable management when I replace the stock heatsink in my main rig and move my HTPC into a SilverStone ML03 (currently housed in a cheapy HEC mATX tower).

I originally made this build inside a Thermaltake Armor A30.
Was hard to work on, Terrible cable management, and temps were higher than i liked.

No matter how many times I see FT03, I always think of a trash can :|, though the black one looks better. I love the FT01 and 02 though. The build looks nice though

The build looks great - thanks for the pics. Seems like Silverstone is doing very creative things with case design, getting rid of dead space while still providing adequate cooling. I might go with one of these cases eventually - deciding between this and going all out on a mini-ITX SG-05.

Very nice! Some questions: What optical drive did you go with? Also, what type of speakers do you have and what sort of amp are you using to drive them? By the speaker placement, I'm guessing you have a 5.1 system. How big a difference do you notice w/ the Creative xFi over motherboard sound? Thanks and congrats on a sleek build!

Im actually running a 2.1 system. Those speakers are sony bookshelf speakers.
They are sony SS-B1000s connected to a logitech z2300 sub. I basically replaced the stock satellites with these and they sound way better than those tiny stock ones. No amp. I would say the sound card makes a difference because it allows you to customize the settings better than the onboard realtek.
