Yay or nay? The poor man's Nirvana or a credible rock band that came out of the grunge movement of the early 90s?

I'm making a poll because I'm sure someone will ask for it.

Frogstomp was an AWESOME album. I liked pretty much every song in it. Freakshow wasn't bad... I really haven't listened to anything beyond those 2 albums.

I remember Anthem for the Year 2000 and thought it was pretty good, and then the next single they released sounded nothing like that; much mellower and more melancholy. They were all right I suppose. Nothing special though.

way to not include anything from Diorama, like After All These Years or The Greatest View or Across the Night.

Nay. They might be good at the style that they play, but the style is not one that I care for, so by default, it's nay.

lots of talent, but hit or miss songwriting. anthm for the year 2000 is horrible. i mean, it's really bad, i can't stand to listen to it, i can't believe some producer OK'd that piece of crap to make the cut for the CD. and yet the songs that come directly before and after it are really REALLY good. and they were always very mature songwriters for their age.

but with nearly every song being a metaphor for the singer's anorexia, right from their very first single, i got a little tired of the laser-focused subject material. at least kurt cobain had heroin AND courtney love to sing about.

 I used to listen to the Frogstomp album all the time when it came out, I haven't really heard anything from this since the '90's either. Guess I'll have to dust off my old CD and give it a listen.

I remember their CD from 1999, was decent but fairly forgettable.

Anthem for the Year 2000 and Ana's Song stood out.

I seem to recall hearing that they won their recording contract in some sort of contest. No idea if there's any truth to that or not.
The first CD was decent.
