I purched two sticks of 1GB DDR2 by accident, what I really need is regular DDR, like PC2700 or whatever they're at now (think 3200). What I bought was DDR2 pc 4200. It looks like this ram would fit in a regular DDR slot, but I have not tried it, or removed it from the package to even put it close to see for sure. Pin count might even be off, not sure, but it looks like its same pin count and all.
So that said, are they compatible with each other? I realize it would probably clock down to PC2700 or whatever the lowest stick is, but would it work, and would it be stable? This ram is just collecting dust, so I'd like to put it to use. I can pop a stick in my server and one in my main machine or something, just don't want to try it without being sure its safe to do so.
