SilkRoad - Free MMORPG

I tried it last spring but gave up because it's servers were hopelessly overloaded. Maybe it has improved since, but it was a frustrating mess then.
 
That is a huge load of views for a game that has been around for a long time...... I guess some people are just now discovering it. Good for them, but there are hardly any good MMOs that are not free, let alone free.
 
Looks like a good time. For a free MMORPG the screenshots really don't look that bad at all. I will put it on my list of things to check out... just started playing EVE online though, so yeah 🙂 Check it out here, it's a pretty sweet MMO with unlimited possibilities and playing time it seems to me. ENJOY!

I like Silkroad alot, just wish I could get on on the weekends, always at capacity. I'd happily pay $5/month just to guarantee that I could login.
 
i played alot. its a GREAT free game and the graphics between this and wow are like CSS vs 1.6. good game. keeps changing so i havent kept up but yea. if u have alot of friends this gets fun .ive had countless nights yelling for assistance(we all in ventrilo) cuz thieves are coming after me 🙂 very entertaining.
 
While you guys are at it - could somebody please give me the lowdown on "Runescape". My son keeps saying a bunch of his friends at school play it. Is it better or worse than this "Silk Road"?

Runescape uses a more "old school" engine which is completely different from Silkroad. Same type of gameplay in some areas as far as the RPG thing goes, but Silkroad is simply newer. It depends on what you are looking for in this case. Runescape, imo, is for a younger audience now, as many players on it are ages 8-14. So, it's really what you're looking for.

Rappelz looked good, but didn't run very well on Vista. They just patched the game for it so I'll try it out again in a few months. Silkroad works pretty well, although the crappy nVidia drivers are hutting me. I should be able to play the game on max detail with my 7900GT.

there are so many free mmorpgs out there...they are all same crapolla though!

I am waiting for the Ept2 to come out 😀.

I was the same way, and stopped playing for about 5 months, but sinces I've started backup there are several more servers and less traffic. The only time I have any trouble getting on is on a saturday afternoon. Your best bet is to have characters on a few different servers so If one is busy you can try the others.
 
This game, although it has pretty nice graphics, levelling up is a PITA... It took me about a month to reach level 23...

The black/white tigers, ohh the agony...
I gave up after lvl 23 😀.
