About the same price as the woot deal in an older thread.

Clear (unencrypted) channels only, Silicon Dust has a page that shows a good estimate of what and how many channel you may get in your area/cable system.

Hooked mine up a few months ago, haven't used it since. I expect to in the future as we wean away from the cable DVR to our HTPC, but so far zip.

Next generation tuners will decode the premium stuff with a cablecard or other tech, and I suspect most places will clear out this older stuff, which is why we are seeing the sales like this one.

Old $85 woot thread with more details and links.

With cable provider migrating to switched video, cable card is pretty dead.

I knew they would pull this sort of thing.

"Out of stock" when it sells fast...wait for the 3-day sale to end. "oh hey look heres some more, lets sell them for $60 more for another 3-day sale"

Yeah, it's funny how they call this new $149 price part of a 72-hour "special" after having it for only $89.

Many (most?) providers are no longer offering many channels unencrypted, so the HD Homerun is getting phased out. The new silicondust cablecard box that supposedly is coming out soon will handle encrypted stuff.

Not a bad deal if you know the channels will continue to be unencrypted in your area though.
