Silent PSU, suggestions?

Im looking for a PSU thats quiet when my pc is idle and it need to be able to handle an SLI config.

Ive been looking at the Antec Phantom 500, anyone have experience with this PSU?

Any other good silent PSUs i should look at?
 
PC P&C... silent? I don't think it's THAT silent. But it's a damn good psu. btw, waffles... i love the quote in your sig :laugh:
 
I put the Seasonic S-12 500w in my machine, and I had just the PSU going, and I had to literally feel for the fan to see if it was on. I was impressed. I am swapping fans out, and replacing the 660w Enermax so that I'll have two Seasonics in my machine, and I'll let you know how it goes as far as the quietness is.

The PCP&C Silencer is about as quiet as it gets, it is in fact based on a Seasonic design

But its amps isn't worth spending for IMO.

Ive narrowed down my choices to the following

Seasonic S12-430 $101
ENERMAX Noisetaker 485W $93
Antec SmartPower 2-450 $62

In the past ive always gone with enermax and antec, havent been let down yet. Kinda leary about seasonic simply because ive never heard of them before. The price of the antec makes it an appealing choice. Is the Seasonic or the Enermax worth the extra $40?

 
My Seasonic 430 is incredibly quiet, but I think I'd get something a little beefier to be safer with an SLI setup.
