Silent Power Supplies

In need of one since my current one is too loud.

One local store here has this one Enermax EG365P-VE(FCA) 350W DUAL FAN, worh it?

found another store that has Thermaltake Silent Purepower 420W Spennugjafi (2xfans), alot cheaper than the Enermax

I have the ThermalTake Silent PurePower 420W and while quiet operation isn't a big concern for me, I can't hear it under any settings on my PC including dropping my CPU fan speed down to 2700RPMs, I still hear the CPU fan over the PS. Supposedly it gets a bit louder if it gets too hot, but I haven't managed to get it close to the temperature required with my decently OCd rig.

I've heard great things about both power supplies you mentioned with both being very quiet and reliable. I'm was leaning towards the Enermax model myself, but now that you've thrown out there the Thermaltake I might have to revisit my decision.

If the psu you have now isn't failing just switch out the fan inside it.
It isn't hard and could save you a lot of money.

I looked in side it a few weeks ago, the wires for the fan are soldered on to the board, I have quite a few coolermaster fans though with rpm setting thingamabob

Seasonic is getting some good press on their PSUs

yea stick a coolermaster in there and run the wire out of the grating (you might have to bend a strip of metal)
If the coolermaster isn't quiet enough for you just order a panaflo.

Be sure to leave the power supply unplugged (not just "off!") overnight, the caps in it can give you a nasty shock.

You can leave the psu off overnight and there might still be a significant charge.
There are ways to discharge them, but in practice I just avoid touching them.
In case you are wondering they are the big cylindrical objects, typically black.
Don't touch them and you won't get shocked. It sounds scary but its simple.

Seasonics are quieter than Antec/Enermax from my experience.
