Check out www.silentpcreview.com and their recommended fans. nexus is the quietest with least airflow. I guess next on your list of fans to try would be Acoustifan or Globe. www.mnpctech.com has the Globes for less than 9$ each.

BTW, you have to undervolt these to make them anywhere near quiet. At most 7Vs probably

Panaflo buddy... best fans on the market... just get a fan controller (5 and 1/4 fan controller (enermax is good)) and just turn it down a bit.

I added 120MM side intake w/ Panaflo rigged at 7V using a molex adapter. From SVC 120mm Panaflo $9.99, 3pin fan to 4pin Molex adapter $.50. The thing is damn quiet. :)

Don't expect any 120mm fan to be dead quiet at normal speeds. The amount of air a 120mm fan can move will generate a good deal of noise. Do as the above posters have posted and undervolt a 120mm fan to 7V. Panaflo is what I use, but by no means is it the only fan you should consider.

I got the 120x38mm Panaflos. On highest power, they are pretty loud but move quite a bit of air. I just turned it down with a controller and they still move a good deal of air but virtually silent compared to other parts of my comp.

a lot of talk has been going on over at ocforums about this. (sorry i can't find the actual thread now) most have come to the conclusion that the best (quietest for how much air they push) are some sanyo denki fans sold for $5 by a guy on ebay. the enermax aluminum 120's are also claimed to be quieter than panaflow fans

Panaflo? Why, because their 80mm fans manufactured in Japan are so quiet?

You want either Globe, Nexus, or Papst.
