Hey everybody,

Is there a site that will give me some tips on how to lessen the sound of my system? Currently, I have a GlobalWin fan that sounds very loud. I want to at least lower it down to a hum. Thanks..

Came across this a couple years ago.. I *think* they make sound proofing fabric thats thin enough to mount on the insides of cases. From what I remember its used in the automotive industry. Hope that helps.

You will want to go to an automotive stereo installer and you will want to get some self-adhesive sound damping material (Dynamat, Roadkill, Vbloc, etc.)

Ahh.. thanks for the tips guys... Just one more question. Will the sound materials affect my current cooling setup? Right now, I only have the CPU fan, and I have yet to add a front case fan..

Qacer,
90% of the materials that will help to deaden sound will also act as an insulator. Try one of the above materials, and if your heat starts to rise, consider adding a case fan to help move more air through your case. Yes I know that another fan adding it's share of noise is kinda defeating the whole purpose of adding sound deadning material, but you don't need a "killer" fan, just something to help move more air. Those slot coolers are really quiet and might be just enough to help take care of any extra heat you may experience.
