Yep, the S-92 was developed from the S-70 BlackHawk. Bigger and more powerful, but a bit slower (the BlackHawk can do 190kt)

Isn't there a helicopter forum that you can post your "Everything you ever wanted to know about helicopters but either did not care, were afraid to ask, or figured that if you ever did want to know everything about helicopters you would probably go somewhere other than a computer-related forum?"

Sorry, after seeing like 10 helicopter threads by Grasshopper in the past 72 hours, I couldn't resist.

Never actually seen either one of those, but mi-8 and mi-24s are fairly common where i come form

Yep, the MI-26 HALO is an impressive helicopter. Almost the same physical size as a C-130 cargo plane and about the size of a DC-9 or Super 80.

I like informative posts over the same old "girl/boy" problem threads. His interest and they are not offensive so let him post.

I agree. It's like a breath of fresh air being exposed to information I probablly would have never looked up on my own.

It is very easy to drop a quarter million bucks into the panel of an aircraft like this.
