"the liberal X" is one of the right's replacement scapegoats for the jews, particularly applicable where muslims/blacks/mexicans don't fit well. In this case the thing to blame isn't criminal or otherwise murderous/rapey, so it couldn't have been one of the latter.

So, that year there were 5 deaths due to hate crimes. 7,000+ incidences. Not sure what that has to do with his comment though.

For the record, is was the deed punished mentioned above. I'm sure you knew all along and your professors all agree that noting the great popularity of hate crimes is relevant to a comment comparing them to terrorism.

I guess they are too stupid to understand that the blue turban signifies that they are Sikhs which has absolutely nothing to do with Islam. Actually, if you must believe in fantasies to get through life, their religion has a lot going for it. But, I guess it really doesn't matter, they just look foreign so that was good enough for them.
 
Our authorities have picked them up, and there's unanimous support in seeking justice for their crimes.
In regards to the OP, you'll find a wide gap in such condemnation for attacking "others" in Muslim countries. Immigration needs to be done with assimilation as a chief priority, and not an afterthought to be forgotten by folks who might not share our values, such as upholding the rights of everyone.
