i used to work at a cafe and people charged all the time. almost everyone took the time to sign a very legible signature and they all reminded me of middle school cursive lessons. this really bothered me and it still does to this day. im not sure why, i was never in a hurry...it just bugs the hell out of me.

does this kind of thing bother anyone else?
 
no. everytime i have people sign, they usually print their name out kindergarten-style. backwards letters and all.
 
That doesn't bother me.

But signing a check and taking your time to make sure the amount is right does.

i was out-righted admiting my white-male supremecy in signature ability. its obvious that because i come from an upper-middle class house, i was exposed to the credit card system at an early age, thereby allowing me to grow accustomed to it sooner so that i, of course, sign faster and with no regard for people being able to read my signature.

at the place i used to work everyone would print out their names as well...no matter how many times i told them it wasnt necessary.

Haha...You'd swear 9 letters wasn't too long, but when i sign my name, my first name is SO purdy and the last name is G and then a bunch of gobbledygook and a swooping line circling/underlining/abruptly ending at the finish. I need to work on the last name.
 
I can never have a matching signature.. I just can't duplicate my own.. so it's always different.. thats why I put "See ID" on the back of my cards.. :Q
 
i basically just end up with first initial, squiggle, second initial, squiggle, thingy, longer thingy. im usually done checking out while Jessica Lauren Walsh, in front of me, is still sorting reciepts
 
First two letters of my first name are visible. First letter and a middle letter of my last name is visible. rest is a scribble.

Yeah i get tired after my first name (7 letters) that by the time i hit my last name (11 letters) im like ahhh screw this.. and draw a swirly thing.
 
legible? wtf is that, i just scribble something that partly resembles my name...I don't see a point in worrying if someone can read my name. I find it easier and more satisfying to be consitently sloppy then legible.
 
I initial things TK, (the T more like a 7 with the K parallel to the T)
I have to write my name toooo many times during the day to take my time.
TscribbleKscribble, with something that might by a "y" in the middle. Or maybe a g or a q

"Twinkle" is indeed 7 letters, but "Toes" isn't anywhere near 11.

ya know, I do this to, and only 1 in 100 people actually ask, so from now on, I'm gonna sign stuff completely randomly, or send someone in with my card and have them sign stuff, then just contest the charges. Oh, my credit card was stolen.

 
I trust you all realize that one's signature is a unique mark; it's not necessarily meant to be legible.
 
I don't get it either, when I worked retail and it'd take people half a minute to sign their name in normal writing, sometimes even print. That's kinda like saying to the world "Hi, forge me please!"
