Signs minus the deep hidden meaning, still a good movie?

I've heard that Signs (like most of Shayalamans movies) has some deeper meaning that what appears on the surface...

Okay..whatever. I don't care about crap like that. I hated sixth sense and I hated unbreakable even more.

His deeper hidden meanings mean crap to me.

So just watching it for a freaky movie about aliens, is it still good?

Deep meaning my buttcrack. The "hidden message" might as well be scrolled across the screen throughout the film.

But yea, an enjoyable film. I liked it, and jeez, they were showing it in two theaters simultaneously when I went to see it, both sold out. That just don't happen 'round these parts.

Well I havent' seen it, I've just heard it has some hidden meaning and it's not just a freaky movie about aliens

It's not that freaky...I think most of the film is centered around this whole "faith" thing. It did have its jump-in-your-seat moments though....at least I reacted that way to them.

Its more of a suspense movie. It builds up to the freaky parts slowly. I think he did a great job of making the movie without using stupid CGI crap. Its a good movie, I really liked it.

I definitely liked Signs better than Unbreakable.

Its not a ID4 type of alien movie. You wont see "freaking laser" guns around.

I saw it, thought it was ok.......sort of disappointing, not really that scary, and the "deep hidden message" was really blatant......

nothing deep but shalyaman directs like he's writing the bible everytime. i can't think of another director who stirs the ominous so
relentlessly yet to minimal effect.

i thought signs was a cute sci-fi flick. nothing spectacular. i think the guy can build a creepy mood in tight domestic spaces without
recourse to millions of dollars worth of cgi. that counts for something these days. a much better scare treat would be last year's
'the other'.
