Well I can see doing this for a couple of reasons. Regardless of what type of president he ends up being, Obama is the first non-white male president, which is in itself historic. Also this school's board obviously wanted to jump to the front of the line in being the first to do this and didn't wanna risk being outdone by another school beating them to the punch. So while I do understand why this was done, I believe it is at least a bit early. While Obama so far seems he'll be a good president, he hasn't had enough of a chance to do anything yet to show he deserves the honor of things being named for him.
