Signs a video card is dying

What are some signs that a video card is about to die?

Or are there no signs and one day just poof?

I think some signs are BSOD, crashing, and artifacts.

Artifacts at stock clocks is a sure sign something is amiss.

Unless it's running too hot (which should be seen by artifacting), generally the first thing that dies is the fan, as it's the only moving part. For some reason my last three GPUs have all had their fan start to make noises or completely die within a year or a year and a half of purchase. Kinda annoying.

how clean do you keel your case? I blow mine out with air at regular intervals

There's rarely much dust to blow out of my case b/c there is a filter on the intake fan.
